Sheep, Star Wars, Sonic, and survival - AppSpy's Sunday Service

With Peter and James away at #PGCSanFran this week it was a little quieter than usual over on AppSpy, Pocket Gamer's video wing. That's not to say there weren't a whole bunch of great games to write home about though!

The Big Stories 1. James plays Impulse GP, a super-smooth arcade bike racer at #PGCSanFran, and has a nice wee chat with devs EcoTorque Games.

2. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition is not just one heck of a mouthful - it's also a loving remastering of an old adventure classic.

3. I don't know much about Star Wars, but apparently it's set in space and there are lasers. Star Wars: Uprising is set after the original Star Wars trilogy, and I've decided that means it's set in my favourite decade, the '80s. 4. Fiendish gothic survival 'em up Don't Starve: Pocket Edition dropped out of nowhere on the App Store this week, and it's well worth checking out if you haven't picked it up on Steam or PS Vita. 5. Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom has softlaunched, and I was taught that if you don't have anything nice to say, it's best not to say anything at all. Glen probably likes it though. AppSpy Recommends

Divide By Sheep has you tossing sheep, wolves, and pigs from platform to platform as part of The Grim Reaper's master plans. A nefariously dark maths-based puzzler for a game that looks so cute.

How we spent our weekend

Mark: Stealing a blimp in the first of many events that will result in me taking over the known world.

Harry: I think I'm walking up a hill called Mount Famine. Because how can you not walk up a hill called Mount Famine?

Glen: Glen was unavailable for comment as he went to a marriage ceremony on Friday. We believe he was the bridesmaid, and he defended his bouquet like no-one else.

Peter & James: Probably flying back on the plane from #PGCSanFran together. I imagine they have become so close now that they'll have turned into PxJ, the ultimate videogame videojournalist.

Danny: Running around London like a loon for The Great Contiki Challenge, then recovering and recuperating on Sunday. Also, pizza.
