When you consider that The Executive is, for the most part, a game where you kick werewolves in the face while wearing a nice suit, it's easy to see why it's the best iOS game of the week.
It's exactly the kind of silliness you need at the end of a long day at the office, particularly if you can envisage your co-workers as deadly animals.
But beneath the silliness lies a surprisingly smart brawler that makes perfect use of the touchscreen controls to deliver its bizarre brand of violence.
You punch high or low by tapping at the top or bottom of the screen, with long presses used to block any incoming attacks and swipes for kicks and special moves.
Then you move on to the next fight in an auto-running section, which require quick reactions to QTEs to avoid falling off skyscrapers and dodging tentacles, among other things.
There's also a management sim thrown into the mix, allowing you to pump the money you earn back into your mining firm and generate even more cash.
It doesn't sound like it should work, but miraculously, everything gels together really well. And it looks incredible to boot.
Basically, it's just a great, fun game. It's silly, over-the-top action married with an intuitive combat system that's simple to pick up and play for a few minutes at a time.
