Sonic Dash to get special in-game event this week to celebrate 100 million download mark

Sega has announced that the Bronze Award-winning endless runner Sonic Dash has been downloaded over 100 million times.

To celebrate this milestone, Sega has announced that a special in-game event will arrive this Thursday.

This event will apparently see Sonic joined by some special friends "who are used to impressive success on mobile platforms," according to Sega.

Your guess as to who these friends might be is as good as ours.

Sega also released an infographic that displays some of the other milestones that Sonic Dash has reached since it was launched in 2013.

It turns out that a total of 850 billion gold rings along the way and you lot have spent 14,000 cumulative years playing Sonic Dash altogether.

If you haven't already, you can download Sonic Dash for free on the App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store, and Windows Phone store.
