iPad strategists rejoice as Sid Meier's Starships goes on sale for the first time
Beyond Earth
If you're a fan of strategy games looking to save some money then you're in luck. Over the weekend, Sid Meier's Starships went on sale for the first time.
Instead of having to pay £10.99 / $14.99 for it you can now pick it up for £6.99 / $8.99. Not a bad deal, I'd say.
Especially as for that admission price you get to command a fleet of starships, protecting planets from space pirates, and generally trying to bring peace to the universe.
Of course, you'll also need to look out for resources and opportunities to expand your fleet and secure your home world. But you can spend plenty of time throwing your weight around.
What may make Starships extra compelling for fans of Meier's games is that it has cross-connectivity with Civilization: Beyond Earth. So if you play that then you should probably pick this one up too.
We gave Sid Meier's Starships a Gold Award. That should mean it's a bloody brilliant strategy game for your iPad, then.
Our reviewer said that's it's "an excellent large scale strategy game, that's nevertheless pleasingly bite-sized."
