Jumping Fish is a free to play endless swimmer that sees you tapping to control your fish's slaloming trajectory and dodging mines.

A clean, vibrant art style and soothing ocean sounds – albeit punctuated by seemingly random farmyard animal noises – do not disguise a game devoid, ironically, of depth. Progression simply means new skins and more mines.

There's a genuine sense of compulsion here, but it's driven by my own sense of inadequacy rather than any true desire to continue playing.

Any thrill quickly evaporates when faced with the next set of (often unfairly placed) mines.
