The terrific PC puzzle game Snakebird will be getting a mobile version, says developer Noumenon Games. Just, don't expect it any time soon - "we need to learn the ropes," the studio says.

Over on PC, this is a cute and devilishly difficult puzzler about a bird-faced snake that slithers along a chunky grid, and gets bigger every time it chomps on a piece of fruit.

Things start getting clever when you use your loopy snake body as a platform to reach up to high areas. But then your stretchy body gets you stuck inside a tight spot and you realise that every wrong move can doom you.

The game's got 50 devious levels, and once you start toying with wormholes and spikes and - gasp! - multiple Snakebirds simultaneously, you realise that you'll be playing this game for months.

The game came out on Steam to huge acclaim (we gave it the nod, too) early last month. We'll let you know when it finally makes its way to mobile.
