Konami's 'main platform will be mobiles' moving forward, says its president

Konami's president Hideki Hayakawa has said that the company "will pursue mobile games aggressively" in an interview with Japanese site Nikkei.
According to the translation by NeoGAF member HGH, Haykawa said the following:
"Our main platform will be mobiles. Following the pay-as-you-play model of games like Power Pro and Winning Eleven with additional content, our games must move from selling things like 'items' to selling things like 'features'.
Apparently, it's the success of these games that has motivated Konami to push its popular franchises on to mobile.
"Mobile is where the future of gaming lies," Hayakawa reportedly said.
He added that Konami is always thinking about how to push its franchises onto mobile in the west. While titles such as Metal Gear Solid and Winning Eleven continue to do well in the west, mobile is the company's new focus.
While this may seem like a surprising move from Konami to some, it's not. Only two days ago we reported on how Square Enix announced it was shifting its focus from console to mobile.
And, of course, earlier in the year we found out that Nintendo would be making games for mobile as well.
It seems that all of the big Japanese game companies are shifting their focus to mobile.
Why? The money. Take Japanese mobile hit Monster Strike for an example. That game's success is making developer Mixi $3.8 million a day.
