Why should you care about Kano? Well, it won our Big Indie Pitch at GDC a couple of months ago. That should do it.

The title Kano refers to the volCANO at the game's centre. It's erupting, and it's your job to try to stop the lava overflow for as long as possible.

You do this by spinning a platform made of four tiles, each with a different colour. The idea is to match the colour of the tile with the head that bounces upon it.

If you fail to match the colours then the tile drops into the volcano below. But you can get it back if you collect one of the masks in the air by tilting your phone to steer the head into it.
If you end up dying, your score is tallied, and a life is taken away. Run out of lives and you'll have to either wait for more, watch a video advert, or make a single payment to get unlimited lives.

There are also hats to collect including Fez, Viking, Headband, and Crown. Plus, there's a Turbo Mode if you really want to test your skills, earning double points at double the speed.

You can download Kano for free right now on the App Store.
