Good puzzle games should make victories as great as the challenges are frustrating.

Based on its first trailer, Hue Ball seems to be on the right track.

In Hue Ball, you control a small cannon at the bottom of the screen that fires colorful orbs into the playing field.

The goal is to get the orbs to bounce around and hit other stationary orbs, destroying them. Some of these obstacles have more layers than others and require more than one hit to get rid of.

Not only that, the orb you shoot out will become part of these obstacles once it stops moving.

Every time you get a new orb to shoot out, the ones still left will bulk up. Eventually, these orbs can turn indestructible and clutter up the board.

Things can probably get overwhelming fast, making that one good move that clears the board all the more satisfying, like in Tetris.

Hue Ball will be out on iOS late May or early June.
