Indie reboot Avernum 2: Crystal Souls offers deep RPG thrills for 10 bucks

Spiderweb Software has just released the rebooted version of its deep indie RPG Avernum 2 on the iPad. It's available right now, under the name Avernum 2: Crystal Souls HD, for £7.99 / $9.99.
The game takes place deep underground in a network of subterranean towns and dungeons. And it's inhabited by multiple nations and even some weirdo alien cultures.
It's an ambitious game of excess and big numbers. There's some 50 hours of gameplay (split between three huge quests); 100-odd places to explore; bucket loads of spells, battle disciplines, and character traits; and loads of side quests.
It looks like the perfect RPG for nostalgic dungeon crawlers. And Spiderweb says the game's self contained, so you don't need to have played Avernum: Escape From the Pit HD to jump in.
