Apple Watch pre-orders sell out for April and May
Earliest delivery dates now listed as June on virtually all models, unless you want to pay a premium on eBay
If you were hoping to be one of the early adopters slapping a shiny new Apple Watch around your wrist in a fortnight, or indeed at any time within 6 weeks of launch, then you may well be out of time and indeed luck.
Just a few hours into the pre-order window, the expected shipping dates of virtually all models had slipped from April through to June, meaning a wait of 2 months (and counting) or more.
Suffice to say entrepreneurial eBayers have already been taking advantage of the supply shortage and offering to resell their pre-orders for a premium with prices around $549 for the $349 RRP sports edition ranging up to $20,000 for the $17,000 RRP gold Apple watch.
Whilst it's not clear exactly how large the initial pre-order supply was or whether there will be a contingency supply to pick up from retail stores at launch day, these initial indications do seem to suggest that Apple already has another hit product on its hands.
