League of Angels - Fire Raiders is a new and improved version of the 2014 Facebook MMORPG hit [Sponsored]

GTArcade has just released League of Angels - Fire Raiders, the mobile version of its 2014 Facebook MMORPG hit, on iOS and Android today.

For those who don't already know, League of Angels - Fire Raiders is an MMORPG in which you collect a bunch of heroes and angels, customise them, and send them into battle against the forces of evil.

Battles are turn-based and strategic, and you'll need to select the right team and formation for the battle ahead because each foe requires a different tact.

We spoke to David Johansson, Creative Director at GTArcade, about what sets League of Angels - Fire Raiders apart, the challenges faced during development, and the future plans for the game.

What do you think your game offers that you can’t get from any other title on the App Store?

Fire Raiders is very easy to pick up and learn in a matter of minutes and offers players countless choices when it comes to selecting heroes, angels, battle formations, equipment, and skill selection.

Not only does this layer of depth make the game even more fun in the long run, it also allows us to add all the best parts of an MMORPG into a mobile game. This perfect mixture of casual and hardcore gameplay is what sets Fire Raiders apart from other App Store games.

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

Every game comes with its own unique set of challenges. For Fire Raiders, we knew early on that we wanted to make the game as immersive and entertaining as possible, so it would have to be filled with original art, characters, skill moves, and voice acting.

Getting all that material ready was an adventure in itself, but the real challenge was making all that fit into a game that players would find entertaining and light-hearted as well. That said, we were able to overcome that challenge and are very pleased with how the game turned out.

Which part of the game are you personally the most proud of and why?

The design of the heroes and angels. Though Fire Raiders is based on our hugely popular browser game League of Angels (awarded best new game of 2014 by Facebook), we knew that we would have to take a different visual approach with this mobile sequel.

We kept the spirit of each character from the browser version but redesigned them all for Fire Raiders - it was a lot of fun. I often find myself having a hard time choosing between all the great characters when I pick my battle formation.

Do you have anything planned in terms of future updates for the game, and if so, can you give us any details of what these might include?

We are constantly adding content based on player feedback and great ideas from our development team.

New maps, heroes, angels, skills, cross-server events, guilds, and much more will be added in future updates that will be released very soon!

Have you any plans to bring the game to any other mobile platforms, such as Windows Phone?

There are discussion to further expand the game to Windows Phone and Facebook, but nothing has been solidified as of yet.

League of Angels - Fire Raiders is out now in the App Store [download] and Google Play [download].
