Silly Sausage in Meat Land is a game where you can earn an achievement for making a dog sniff its own butt. What more do you need to know?
Okay, I'll tell you a bit more. You control a dog with an elongated tummy, which you can bend at right angles to navigate your weirdo pooch through obstacle-laden stages.
And while it seems easy at the start, as you bend your dog's belly around spikes and walls to get at gems and reach checkpoints, you soon meet resistance. There are buzz saws and laser beams and slippy surfaces you can't grip onto.
The game's got an interesting business model to go with its tricky difficulty curve. There's only one really long level but it's littered with checkpoints. You can use gems to unlock them, or watch an advert if you can't afford it.
Basically, it's a unique game (with a hint of Snake), with some clever ideas and a thoughtful control scheme. Exactly what we've come to expect from Nitrome.
Reviewer man Harry liked it too, calling it "a bright and wonderfully well put together game". Sound good? It's free on Google Play.
