Hackers have found a way to bypass Pokémon Shuffle's IAPs on 3DS
Shuffle for free
That didn't take long.
The free to play Pokémon Shuffle only arrived on 3DS this month. But, already, hackers have found a way to bypass its microtransactions.
In this Pokémon-themed match-3 puzzler, you can purchase lives with real money to continue playing for longer.
You buy gems, with one gem costing 89p, and having enough of these means you can trade them for lives. Your other option is to wait for your lives to refill over time.
But by using the same web browser exploit that lets you play Game Boy ROMs on your 3DS, it's possible to get gems for free.
In the in-game shop they'll all appear as being available for zero. See?
However, this exploit doesn't work on the New 3DS and New 3DS XL due to its newer browser. Neither will it work outside of 3DS firmware versions 9.0-9.5.
But you really shouldn't use this exploit as it's naughty. So, yeah, don't do that. Okay?
