Disgustingly stylish arcade racer Drift Stage is coming to PS Vita, its creators say - but you'll probably have to wait until 2016.

This is a coin-op car game inspired by the likes of Outrun 2, Ridge Racer, and Daytona USA, and has a slick visual style that plops pixel art textures onto low poly 3D models, with such colourful gradients it would make Jony Ive explode.

The goal is to balance the game for both casual racing and intense second shaving battles. Plus, there will be online multiplayer and the ability to create handmade tracks customised cars with a pair of in-game editors.

While development is focused on computers, developer Super Systems Softworks says "we're working towards PS4 and PS Vita releases of Drift Stage, and the fact that we've exceeded our funding goal is certainly going to help make it happen."

The PC, Mac, and Linux versions will be out first, and the studio is "hoping to hit PS4 and Vita in 2016."

The game has smashed its Kickstarter goal, but if you still want to throw some money at the most gorgeous game in the world, here is the appropriate hyperlink.
