English version of action-RPG remake Brandish: The Dark Revenant comes to PSP next week

XSEED Games is publishing the English version of Nihon Falcom's action-RPG remake Brandish: The Dark Revenant for PSP on January 13th 2015. It will cost $19.99.

This remake was originally released on the PSP in Japan back in 2009. Many thought it wouldn't ever be localised in English, hence fans have spent the time to translate it themselves.

The good news doesn't end at the announcement of an English version of the game finally coming to PSP. No, as it turns out, it will also work on PS Vita and PlayStation TV. So you don't need to have a PSP to play it.

Now you're interested, huh? Here's a few details about the game.

You play as the swordsman Ares Toraernos as he fights up over 40 floors of a dungeon filled with monsters, traps, and puzzles.

Along the way, you'll repeatedly run into your arch-rival Dela Delon. She's as interested in killing you as she is escaping this underground labyrinth herself.

There are also hidden casinos to find, which give you a break while playing a card game with NPCs called "Blade."

Oh, and if you're wondering, The Dark Revenant is a remake of Brandish, which was originally released way back in 1991 in Japan. It was also ported to the SNES and PC in 1994.

So, if you're one of the people who have been wanting to play this in English for the past five years, next week your wish comes true.
