Don't Shoot Yourself! was probably 2013's neatest take on the bullet hell genre. It turned you into your own worst enemy.
It's now available for free on iOS for a limited time. So, if you didn't check it out before, now would be a good time to do so.
The idea is this: you're a triangle-shaped ship that constantly spits bullets out your rear end. These bullets will ricochet off the walls of the tight and irregularly shaped levels back at you.
If any of these bullets hit you, you have failed and will have to start again. If you stop moving for a few seconds, again, you will fail.
The result is a testing game in which you must dodge your own bullets for intense sessions, during which you cannot stop moving. It tests your focus, thumbstick skills, and patience.
In our review, we said "Don't Shoot Yourself! is guaranteed to murder you again and again, but its unique design and high challenge level should thrill bullet-hell fans looking for an epic foe."
