It's a shame, but there aren't more WarioWare-like games on mobile despite the quickfire mini-game formula being idea for mobile. Which is why Iron Finger holds quite the appeal.

Yes, it's a collection of fast-paced, randomly assorted mini-games that each challenge you to reach a certain score in a given time limit without making a mistake.

These mini-games include dunking basket balls, tapping hovering balls for the sake of science, and pulling a car away from a super villain with your super powers. They all involve either tapping, swiping, or tilting, or a combination thereof.

If you manage to reach the required score then you get to play another mini-game right away. Your score also carries over. Otherwise you are reset to the main menu, unable to build up to a high score that will compete well in the leaderboards.

The success of this kind of game more or less depends on two elements. Firstly, the instructions you're given for each mini-game have to be clear.

If they're not then you're going to have a hard time doing anything but failing. Luckily, for the most part, Iron Finger does a good job here with its animated illustrations that show you what to do.

However, I did find that I wasn't entirely sure what I was required to do in a couple of the mini-games, leading me to fail rather quickly. Still, you can experiment if needs be, if you're willing to give the game a chance.
The second element of success is, simply, that the games have to fun, preferably amusing, and there should be plenty of them.

From what I've seen of Iron Finger, it's not as funny or frantic as WarioWare, but it has its own less bizarre qualities. The pixel art is consistently well-drawn, and the diversity of the games gives you plenty of surprises to look forward to.

All that said, it's probably worth checking out if it interestes you at all. You can purchase it for 69p / 99c on the App Store [buy].
