When iOS 8.1 was released last month it took away the "Date Trick" that allowed you to run emulators such as GBA4iOS on your iOS phone or tablet.

By rolling back the date on your iOS device far enough, you could install apps that Apple hadn't approved, such as these emulators. That's what iOS 8.1 disallows.

Despite that, iOS developer and GBA4iOS creator Riley Testut has found a way to get GBA4iOS running on iOS 8.1 anyway, and still without jailbreak.

So, even with the latest iOS update, you can play Game Boy games on your iOS phone or tablet. Cheeky.

You can install the open beta it right now by grabbing it on iEmulators. It should soon be up on GBA4iOSapp.com and Cydia, too.

Testut already released the GBA4iOS source so you can compile it yourself and never lose it.

The 2.1 version of GBA4iOS also comes with a new feature: multiplayer. It lets you trade items in certain games with other players.

Obviously, we think this is all very naughty, and that Santa Claus shouldn't give you presents if you do install it.
