Updated on November 10th 2014 at 21:10: Endless Doves will be out this week, and not next week as this article states.

We got the information slightly later than intended, hence the mix up. It will more than likely be available on Thursday, 13th November in that case.

Original story follows...

Nitrome will be releasing Endless Doves next week on iOS and Android.

As you might guess from that title, it's a follow-up to the Bronze Award-winning 8bit Doves, except this time the bird-collecting is endless.

Just the same, you'll tap the sides of the screen to fly your bird in arcs through tight spaces and bigger, open areas. As you go, you'll collect smaller birds that fly in a line alongside you.

This time your goal is to collect as many birds as possible before you crash - there is no proper end of the level. It has Game Center support so you can try to outdo your friends on the online leaderboards.

To give you something else to work towards, there are other birds (and non-birds) to unlock for you to collect. You unlock them using the birds you've already collected.

The starter birds are doves, of course, but once you've collect 20 over the course of all your attempts, you can unlock a chubby chicken. You'll then collect these from the levels instead of doves. And so it goes.

I found having that unlock incentive kept me playing despite being absolutely terrible at the game. So it's a good job that it's in there otherwise I probably would have given up trying.

Endless Doves will be free to download and is supported by ads. We'll let you know when you grab pick it up next week.
