First fitness casino game Vegas Fruit Slots coming to smartwatches

German developer HandyGames is well known for diving into new tech the moment it arrives on the gaming scene, and is embracing the world of smartwatch gaming very tightly.

It's latest announcement comes to Pocket Gamer exclusively, as it reveals the first ever fitness-based casino game Vegas Fruit Slots for Android Wear smartwatches.

Gambling on the go

As we've seen recently with the likes of Aces of the Luftwaffe and Guns 'n' Glory Heroes - Wear, the studio is looking for ways to integrate the unique features of wearable technology into its wrist-mounted titles.

Vegas Fruit Slots makes use of the pedometer function, adding coins to your virtual pocket the more steps you make in a day. Those coins can then be poured into the smartwatch fruit machines where you can vainly attempt to add more cash by playing the slots.

The game is set to arrive on Google Play in the next two weeks, priced at 69p/99c, with no in-app purchases or advertising. Vegas Fruit Slots will be compatible with the current range of Android Wear devices from Samsung, LG, Motorola and Sony right off the bat.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
