Doodle Jump DC Super Heroes is a real thing and it's out right now for iPad and iPhone

There's now a version of Doodle Jump where you get to play as Batman.

Take a moment. Let that sink in. Let it creep over your skin and seep through your pores. Doodle Jump DC Super Heroes. Look at it.

The game sees you playing as a doodle-ified version of the Dark Knight Detective. You're still tilting your device to bounce on platforms, but you can also tap the screen to hurl a batarang in a seemingly random direction.

There are boss battles too, which involve bouncing around, avoiding projectiles and henchmen, and mashing the screen until enough of your bat-shaped frisbees hit the big bad.

You can upgrades Batman and give him shiny new gadgets, like a batcopter, which turn up while you're navigating the obstacles and give you a boost.

Apparently this is only the first episode of the game, and we can expect more heroes to be added as time continues on its merry and ridiculous march.

Who knows what innovative ways you'll bounce around in those new chapters.

Doodle Jump DC Super Heroes is available right now from the App Store for nothing. And, er, it's okay I guess. Just don't expect it to hold your attention for very long. Or at all.
