More multiplayer WWII strategy arrives on iPad with Slitherine's Battle Academy 2: Eastern Front

Strategy game powerhouse Slitherine has released Battle Academy 2: Eastern Front on iPad today.

As with the first Battle Academy, you'll be commandeering strategic battles during World War II. But, the big difference is that this sequel focuses exclusively on battles on Russian soil.

There are 30 missions across four campaigns to march through that'll have you swapping sides from Axis to Soviets.

One of the key changes between each of these campaigns is the weather. Being in Russia, it's particularly harsh, and it will affect the effectiveness of your strategies.

Rush the defence

Speaking of strategies, Eastern Front has a new features, including "smoke, infantry dash, fighter cover, partial damage, and trenches."

You'll be able to put these to good use in the brand new skirmish feature, which offers limitless battles once you've beaten all the campaigns.

As with the first game, Eastern Front also has multiplayer modes, but this time there is an additional co-operative mode.

So, yep, you can hook up with a friend and try to work together to bring down the enemy army.

You can purchase Battle Front 2: Eastern Front on the App Store for £13.99 / $19.99 right now.
