Herocraft's card-based tactical take on Games Workshop's dystopian future Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf has been soft launched for iPad in South Africa.

The game is a free to play deck building action game. You play a Space Marine from the Space Wolves chapter who's stomping through a Chaos-held world, trying to kill everything that can spell Tzeentch.

You've got a set of cards at your disposal and you need to use them cleverly to slay traitors, find boxes, and save your pack brothers. It's all very grim and dark and full of violence, as you might expect.

I've not had much time with the game, but from what I've seen this feels like the first Games Workshop game that gets things just right. It's dirty and bleak but stuffed full of really interesting tactical ideas.

You can check out a hands-on with an earlier build in the video above, and we will of course let you know when the game shoots its way out of soft launch and starts destroying things all across the world.

There should be an Android version of the game as well, so we'll keep an eye out for that too.
