Xenoblade Chronicles remake for new 3DS models is being released outside of Japan

Nintendo of Australia has revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles remake for the new 3DS models will be coming to Australia and New Zealand in 2015.

The remake of the 2010 Wii RPG was announced by Nintendo of Japan in August. No word of a release outside of Japan was given at the time.

So, today is the first time that we've heard news of it being released elsewhere in the world.

Whether that means Xenoblade Chronicles for 3DS will be released in Europe and the US isn't known. However, with the announcement today, it seems pretty likely that it'll happen.

The reason the remake is exclusive to the new 3DS models is due to the game requiring the upgraded CPU. So, no, it will not run on older models, I'm afraid.

The new 3DS models are due to arrive in Japan on October 11th, and in Australia on November 21st. Europe and the US don't get them until 2015.

We'll let you know if we hear anything about Xenoblade Chronicles heading further west.
