Somewhere beyond the rows of white picket fences and pristine cul-de-sacs of suburban America, a civil defense siren wails. The BBQ is ruined. This is not a drill.

The upcoming Cold War-inspired comedy game 60 Seconds will place you in the role of Ted, an average, hard working family man caught in the middle of a nuclear war.

Toss that "duck and cover" nonsense out the window. When that alarm sounds, you'll have 60 seconds to grab anything remotely important in sight - family, food, and other supplies - before hunkering down in your fallout shelter.

There are no screens or videos of 60 Seconds yet, just the promotional image above and some vague hints at its play style.

From the sound of it, there will be an element of strategy involved in which items you choose to grab, according to what kinds of tips the emergency broadcast system decides to provide.

When you're finally in the shelter, survival will mean careful conservation of supplies... and dealing with the occasional infestation of mutant cockroaches.

60 Seconds will be headed to Android, iOS, and Windows Phone sometime in 2014 or 2015. It will also release for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Keep up to date with news on its official website.
