Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's upcoming strategy RPG Terra Battle will have an energy system you can pay to bypass.

It's not a feature we can honestly get excited about, unlike the rest of the game.

We've known that Terra Battle is free to play since finding out about it in July this year. We were hoping its monetisation wouldn't be too icky.

It seems that it might be, though, unfortunately. You see, Destructoid spoke to Sakaguchi about Terra Battle at PAX Prime, and asked about its free to play model.

It turns out it will have a stamina mechanic that limits the number of battles you can have over a short time.

The energy that fuels stamina regenerates over time, but you can pay to speed that process up.

Apparently, Sakaguchi was keen to emphasise that you won't be pressured to spend money on Terra Battle, mind.

Like it or not, Terra Battle is due to release on iOS and Android this October in Japan. A western release hasn't been confirmed yet but it is expected.
