Samsung reveals Galaxy Note 4 and the curved screen Galaxy Note Edge
|

Revealed today at the IFA tech show in Berlin, Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are, essentially, the same thing.

The big difference is that the Note Edge has a separate curved screen that, as you can guess, hangs on the edge.

The specs for both phones look like this:

  • 2.7GHz Quad-Core processor or 1.9GHz Octa-Core processor depending on location
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot
  • 16MP rear camera with "smart OIS" / 3.7MP f1.9 front camera
  • Android 4.4

The Note 4 has a 5.7 inch display while the Note Edge has a 5.6 inch display. The Edge's extra panel on the right side increasing its total width beyond the Note 4's.

There's also a fingerprint scanner included and both phones come with fast-charging batteries - going from zero to fifty percent in half an hour, apparently.

The curved screen can be operated independently of the main screen and is typically used to display navigational buttons.

It can also display strips of customised pictures and serves to host buttons when using the phone as a camera. It's not really essential for anyone to have outside of possessing 'showy off' tech.

Samsung announced that the Galaxy Note 4 will be available in October while the Galaxy Edge will be available later this year.
