Huge Godfire: Rise of Prometheus update adds new enemies, nasty weapons, and smoother combat
No pain, no gain
We called Godfire: Rise of Prometheus a "clumsy brute" in our review on account of its heavy, repetitive combos. But a free update released today addresses this criticism of ours.
Yep, Vivid Games claims that the so-called Combat Update that arrived today gives the bloodshed a balletic quality. In other words, it makes combat "more dynamic, controls more responsive, animations more fluid, and finishers more vicious than before".
Not stopping there, Vivid has also added a new Deadly Heights arena to the Survival Mode. An endless wave of enemies awaits you, alongside a drop to your death, and an evil that lurks in the nearby cliffs.
There are also three new enemy types delivered in this update: The Healer, Berserker, and Enhancer. These self-explanatory enemy types should keep you on your toes.
Fortunately, you can take them down with the new Skullcutter axes that come along with the new set of weapons.
If that isn't enough, you could always try out the new armour set and Survival Mode power-ups, while pursuing the new ranks added for you to earn.
Lastly, new subtitles for the game's cutscenes have been added. They're available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
You can purchase Godfire: Rise of Prometheus on the App Store for £1.99 / $2.99.
