Aero-puzzler daWindci Deluxe is the definitive version of the Bronze Award-winning daWindci.

Using your finger you control all forms of wind. From small gusts to tornadoes, rain clouds, and stormclouds.

Your task is to guide a hot air balloon across several dozen maps at your own leisurely pace. Movement feels noticeably more fluid than the the original daWindci, especially with it now being possible to draw curved streams of wind.

Puzzles and obstacles are introduced one at a time, making sure you are clear on how every contraption, switch, and pulley puzzle works before introducing you to a new mechanic.

Replay value boils down to whether you're keen to collect the three stars on each level. Unlockables for netting stars include balloon skins and several bonus levels.

A breath of fresh air

daWindci Deluxe adopts an almost cel-shaded style, revitalising its previously functional looks. The score remains suitable as ever, with some relaxed guitar twangs to keep the mood light.

The rejigged levels and new mechanics are a welcome addition to the game, but I can't help but feel that it ends rather unceremoniously the moment you've finished learning each of its mechanics.

While this is undeniably the best version of daWindci to date, it's also the third version on the App Store, joining the now-outdated iPhone-only and Universal originals (99p and £1.49 respectively).

While still a neat little physics puzzler, daWindci Deluxe is the remastering no-one asked for. If it were DLC or a free content update, as Reality Twist did previously, it'd be a different story.

But asking fans of the original to shell out £1.99 all over again does feel a little unreasonable.

daWindci Deluxe

With its format of release being questionable at best, daWindci Deluxe's new additions just about manage to keep its old score afloat
