Out at midnight: Zombie Commando combines pixel slaughter with light tactics at a single touch
Not completely brain dead
Zombie Commando doesn't feature an undead Arnold Schwarzenegger, but it gets close enough.
You play a team leader in this tactical action game. Your goal is to slaughter waves of zombies, quite simply. The slew of pixel-gore should make that a satisfying mission.
It's played with a single finger with which you command a team of eight soldiers. With them, you'll slaughter your way across five locations, including the deserts of Egypt, an icy dungeon, and a laboratory.
You can play as one of 15 different (but typical) classes - tank, sniper, explosives, weapons specialist, and so on. The class you pick will affect how you'll want to handle the hordes in Zombie Commando's 50 levels.
You may have to work as a team but you'll need to consider playing to your strengths. You'll want to be more aggressive if you're a tank, for instance.
BraaaainsThe variety across the 18 unique types of zombies, the five nasty bosses, and having to save civilians adds a need for tactical thinking. You can't always just tap and attack; you may need to erect defences and traps to help you out.
Zombie Commando isn't going to impress real-time strategy fans too much. But if you want some straight-forward zombie slaughter then it should be right up your street.
You'll be able to purchase it for £1.49 / $1.99 when it arrives on the UK and US App Stores at midnight.
Note that this is a limited-time promotional price and it will soon become more expensive.
