Tokyo-based game studio Tri-Ace recently announced Judas Code, a free-to-play action game for the PlayStation Vita.

While not much about the title is known, it will see a Japanese release this Summer and include microtransactions.

Judas Code is set in the aftermath of a catastrophic event involving some kind of traveling space pillar called Longinus, an event that drove the planet's people to World War III.

Players can join the fight solo or against others, with both a shooter-based singleplayer campaign and a card battle-based multiplayer mode. The more missions players take on, the more cards they can collect.

Developers Tri-Ace are also working on Phantasy Star Nova, an upcoming PlayStation Vita game set for release sometime in 2014.
