Nintendo totally listened to us. Sort of.

After protesting against Super Smash Bros. 3DS ignoring Fire Emblem Awakening hero Chrom in favour of GameCube dude Ike, Nintendo went back to Kyoto, took a long hard look in the mirror, and added two characters from the tactics epic into the upcoming fighter.

Except, Chrom isn't one of them.

Instead there's Lucina who - for fear of spoiling the game's twisty turns storyline - we'll just say is a kickass female fighter. And then there's Robin, who is the main character in Awakening.

Chrom Lucina

You'll be able to play as both male and female versions of magician warrior Robin.

Plus, F-Zero racer Captain Falcon is to return to the Super Smash Bros. fray in the upcoming 3DS and Wii U game. He's a tournament-level favourite, and the man behind the iconic FALCON PUNCH! move.

Rayman

Earlier today, Smash designer Sakurai revealed that limbless Ubisoft hero Rayman would appear in the game - but only as a trophy. You've got Ubisoft to blame for Rayman's gurning mug - the French studio provided the 3D model.

Smash Bros. will be out on 3DS on October 3rd.
