I think we can safely assume that BioShock is never actually coming to Vita.

We haven't seen this mysterious game since it was vaguely referred to back at E3 2011. And franchise creator Ken Levine basically rang the death knell for the project on Twitter last night.

He said, "2K and Sony couldn't put a deal together when I last checked. They seemed way more optimistic about this back in 2011."

When asked what he wanted the game to be like, the System Shock 2 designer revealed that he was thinking about a turn-based tactics game set in pre-fall Rapture, before it turned into the apocalyptic wasteland we all know and love.

It would have been "something that would work well on the Vita and not be a compromise in any way", explained Levine. "Also, as some know, i'm a turn-based whore," which, incidentally, is a brilliant pitch for a new game.
