If The Sims doesn't have enough radiation and mutated beasts for you then you'll probably enjoy Sheltered.

This survival sim has you trying to look after a family locked up in an underground bunker after a nuclear holocaust.

As the days pass by, you'll have to manage the limited food and water supplies between the husband, mother, daughter, and son.

Survival will provide constant stresses and challenges. The systems keeping them alive in the bunker will need maintenance, for example.

You'll also have to make supply runs out in the nuclear wastes. Obviously, avoiding radiation and the mutated beasts won't be easy.

Plus, the family will have to deal with claustrophobia and cabin fever as they're locked up together.

It all sounds rather depressing. But it's all necessary in order to get you invested in this family's struggle. Prepare for some gut-wrenching, pixel art scenes.

Sheltered is currently on Kickstarter where developer Unicube has surpassed its initial goal of £15,000.

The next goal is to bring the game to iPad and Android tablets. For that, £20,000 is needed and it's very close to being met with just four days left.

It was revealed today that Worms developer Team17 will be publishing Sheltered. That should provide some assurance that that the game will come to all platforms in good form.

If you want to play this intriguing survival sim on your tablet, consider supporting it on Kickstarter.
