Stoic Studio and publisher Versus Evil has announced that tactical RPG The Banner Saga will be available on tablets this summer.
The Banner Saga's gameplay is a mix of choice-based conversations, turn-based battles, and survival-based travelling sections.
Stoic consists of ex-Bioware developers and have stuck to the style of RPG they're familiar with for The Banner Saga. In other words, if you're familiar with Dragon Age and Mass Effect you'll know what to expect.
The Banner Saga is also a beautiful game with hand-drawn graphics comparable to older Disney movies such as Sleeping Beauty. The art really brings its Viking-influenced fantasy land to life with flair.
You'll take control of multiple characters including horned giants known as Varl. These brutes are great in battle, but to be successful you'll need to ensure your convoy is well supplied and morale is high.
The Banner Saga was originally released on PC in January of this year. At the time, Stoic was met with trademark issues from King, who had trademarked the word "saga".
Despite that, Stoic had no doubt that it would be bringing The Banner Saga to tablets - it seems it wasn't a false claim.
Unfortunately, we don't have a release date for The Banner Saga yet. Mind you, the summer only has a couple of months left, so expect it soon.
It will be available on iPad, Android tablets, and Windows tablets.
