Release is an interesting shooter that doesn't have that much shooting in it. It takes its visual cues from a mix of Geometry Wars and Super Hexagon, and is all about trapping shapes in an energy field.

Pressing on the screen releases the energy field, which spreads out from a hexagon in the middle of the screen. When you lift your finger, any of the attacking shapes in the field will be destroyed.

There are some interesting ideas dropped in here and there. Certain shapes orbit your hexagon, and if you leave them alone you'll earn extra points. Power-up orbs speed up the pace of your field, widen it, or give you a shield.

The game is set to hit the App Store on June 26th, and it'll cost 69p / 99c for the first two weeks, before going up to £1.99 / $2.99. It's probably worth a look as well.
