[Update] Big Action Mega Fight! takes free-to-play model, drop kicks it into the sun
Updated on June 25th, at 11:21: The new version of Big Action Mega Fight! is now available. It's £1.49 / $1.99 on iOS and £1.09 / $1.99 on Android.

If you already downloaded the iOS version when it was free, you'll get this new paid-for remake for nothing. Android users will need to buy the new version.

Bronze Award-winning brawler Big Action Mega Fight! will be re-launched on iOS and Android as a premium app later this week, following negative player feedback about the game's free-to-play structure.

Players "wanted to get to the core fighting gameplay without resorting to minor time delays and inconveniences," says Double Stallion Games's Nicolas Barrière-Kucharski.

The new game will have no ads or in-app purchases, and the different currencies have been squished together like two bad guys' skulls.

Also, "the entire game's progression has been revamped to eliminate any possibility of grind or tedium," says Barrière-Kucharski.

The game has also received a character upgrade system, a combat buff system, 11 new levels, two extra enemies, cutscenes, refined touch controls, and controller support on iOS.

BAMF! will be priced at £1.49 / $1.99 during launch from June 25th to July 1st, with the price going back to £1.99 / $2.99 afterward.

In her review of the free-to-play version, Nadia said "Big Action Mega Fight! pens a love letter to the beat-'em-up genre. Then, it sets that letter on fire and rams it down your throat". Which is presumably a good thing?
