Sony has soft launched a Fat Princess mobile game in Canada. It's called Fat Princess: Piece of Cake and it's a surprisingly entertaining match-three RPG.

You command a squad of soldiers who are trying to protect the portly heir from an invading force. You need to smack them with swords, guns, and bombs to make sure your charge gets to the end of the level safely.

A priest stands at the back of your group dealing out heals if you match hearts.

The front row consists of a soldier who slices individual assailants with his sword, a bomb-tosser who deals small damage to all units, and a blunderbuss wielding ranged specialist who damages the front row of your foes.

You perform attacks by matching the requisite symbols. Matching cake unlocks a special attack, and matching gems lets you level up.

Everything is presented in a nice cartoon manner, and there are some grisly death animations once you've dealt with the opposing force.

If you manage to get to the fifteenth level of the game you'll even unlock a free download code for the original PS3 version of Fat Princess.

Fat Princess: Piece of Cake is out in Canada right now and it's completely free. We'll let you know when it stomps out in the rest of the world as well.
