As old school as you want

Deep PC strategy game Conquest of Elysium 3 takes its turn to conquer Android tablets

Deep, strategic turn-based RPG Conquest of Elysium 3 has made the big leap from PC to Android tablets.

To look at it, you could easily dismiss Conquest of Elysium 3 as another quite ugly old-school RPG. But as fans of developer Illwinter Games will protest, it's not about the look.

Even at first play, it might seem simple and limited. That's because your goal is just to defeat your enemies.

But the developer of the popular PC strategy series Dominions hides the depth from players here. The further you delve, the more complexities and risky tactics you should find inside Conquest of Elysium 3.

For starters, the game's set of playable races all have completely different goals and mechanics. You have to learn the strengths of each one and make use of them to come out on top.

That's not made easy, however, as the game has a number of randomly generated features to mix things up.

Maps are generated from scratch each time. Random events like merchants appearing and portals from the underworld opening up can occur, for example.

Let it be said: if you're after a deep, complex strategic turn-based RPG on Android, then Conquest of Elysium 3 should have piqued your interest by now.

You can purchase it from Google Play right this second for £5.85 (which is about $8.99). An iOS port of the game may surface in the future.

You can find more information about Conquest of Elysium 3 for tablets on the game's website.
