Sometimes you want to use your phone to play a simple, three-star puzzle game that tests your reflexes and patience for porcine sound effects.

Other times, you just want to take a picture of a sasquatch.

Those who yearn for this second, simple joy will probably want to check out the free-to-play photo safari game Bigfoot Hunter when it launches later this spring.

Created by the indie minds at The Tap Lab, we first saw it at the GDC 2014 Big Indie Pitch and it had our attention the second the words Pokemon Snap were uttered.

Similar to the classic N64 title, Bigfoot Hunter has you explore its game world in a quest to snap a perfect picture of the elusive bigfoots (bigfeet?) and their international kin.

While it's not an AR game in the strictest sense, you'll maneuver your phone as if you were panning around the world of Bigfoot Hunter with tilt controls playing an integral part to how well you line up your shots of the infamously blurry beasts.

Unfortunately, we don't have too much more to report on Bigfoot Hunter past its rough release date (Spring 2014) although we're guessing more information will pop up on its official site sometime soon.

Until we have more to share, you can sit back and watch the trailer below.
