Out at midnight: Beware Planet Earth! is an F2P tower defence game about cows and aliens

Let's not beat around the bush. Beware Planet Earth! has the same cartoonish looks as tower defence classic Plants vs Zombies.

However, there is one big difference between the two games. Oh, other than the fact that Beware Planet Earth! is about defending Barney's cows from being abducted by Martians and, well, PopCap's seminal game isn't.

Instead of PvZ's lane-based setup, Beware Planet Earth!'s structure is more akin to a traditional tower defence game, with paths that the enemies walk along to destroy your tower.

You place turrets and Zappers and Cow Bells along these paths to kill the Martians. You earn credit to buy more towers with each kill and repeat until you've completed the level.

Beware Planet Earth! was actually a 2012 PC game. Bandai Namco then picked it up and has subsequently published this free-to-play iOS version.

Anyway, you'll be able to download Beware Planet Earth! from the UK and US App Stores at midnight tonight.
