Apple pulls out the heavy artillery

Frontline: Road to Moscow banned in South Korea and Brazil following update

Whlep, this is a new one even to us.

Following an update, Apple has slapped the WWII RTS title Frontline: Road to Moscow with a 17+ age requirement for its depictions of "guns and gun-related activities".

The new age requirement effectively bans Frontline: Road to Moscow in conservative mobile markets like Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and South Korea.

Sounds like Update 1.01 must've been pretty nasty, right?

That's the weird part. According to Pocket Tactics, Frontline's 1.01 update "squashed some bugs" but didn't make any alternations to its content.

Prior to the 1.01 update, Frontline: Road to Moscow sailed through its App Store approval process without raising any flags.

Shell shocked

Unless Apple reverses its decision, Frontline: Road to Moscow cannot be downloaded or updated in markets that don't allow graphic games on the App Store.

We're at a bit of a loss as to why Frontline got hit with this age requirement, as it looks like the sort of staid tactics game that armchair generals and WWII buffs would sink their teeth into - and it's notably light on violence, gore, and even combat animations.

If you think you're up watching the (apparently graphic) trailer below, you can take a look at what Frontline: Road to Moscow has to offer and decide for yourself if Apple *ahem* jumped the gun on this one.
