Paper clip puzzles
Fairplay Media has used a bit of duct tape, half a paper clip, and the corkscrew end of a Swiss Army knife to release MacGyver: Deadly Descent on iOS and Android.
Very loosely based on the Richard Dean Anderson TV show from the '80s, Deadly Descent has you solving various logic puzzles as you make your way down a lift shaft.
The six different puzzle types see you re-routing laser beams, playing Flow, and never firing a gun (because that's totally NOT MacGyver's style... unless he has amnesia like in Season 2's 'D.O.A.' episode, of course!)
This is an official MacGyver product created in conjunction with series creator Lee David Zlotoff. A portion of the game's profits will go towards The MacGyver Foundation, which encourages people to solve problems non-violently.
MacGyver: Deadly Descent is not terrifically brilliant, sure. And you'll have a lot more fun with something like The Curse or The Room. But it's perfectly playable, and will send some people happily down memory lane.
