Procedurally-generated dungeon crawlers aren't really all that new on the App Store, but there's something about Fallen Lords that helps it stand out.
Maybe it's the retro board game presentation - which evokes tile-based games like HeroQuest - or maybe it's the interesting textures of the hand-drawn artwork.
Or, heck, maybe it's the fact that you get to roll dice to resolve combat.
Yeah, that's probably it.
At the core of Fallen Lords' story are four adventurers who must delve into a ruined city in a quest to defeat the nefarious - and probably undead - Fallen Lords.
Each character has unique abilities that change the basic rules of gameplay. Many of the games' 60+ monsters can also tinker with these rules, so it definitely seems like Fallen Lords will keep you on your toes.
Interestingly, Fallen Lords can be played by a solo adventurer or by a group of friends huddled around a single tablet.
