Hybrid racing / comic book game SXPD is out now for iPad
Vroom vroom
We've been following the news of Earthworm Jim designer David Perry's SXPD for a few weeks now - and we're happy to report that it's out now on the App Store for iPad owners.
This release comes almost a month after SXPD's soft-launch in Canada, from which we learned that it features a 42-page digital comic book on top of its Deathchase-inspired racing gameplay.
If this is the first you're hearing about SXPD, the game follows the story of an all-female bike cop unit in the fictional metropolis of New Royale.
Similar to crossover titles like Imaginary Range, SXPD has players read through a comic book adventure with gameplay segments interspersed throughout.
The end result feels something like a gamebook and something like a music video from the 1980s - but it's definitely one of the more eye-catching and novel games we've seen in a while.
If you've got an iPad, $1.99 / £1.49, and 100 MB or so in storage sitting around you can add SXPD to your device by clicking on the little black button below.
