[Update] Ubisoft's gorgeous RPG Child of Light is coming to the Vita
US release information updated
There's good news ahead for Vita-owning RPG fans.
Ubisoft's beautiful Child of Light is coming to the PS Vita in North America on July 1 and will make its way to Europe on July 2.
Child of Light is a modern take on the classic fairy tale, and is described best as "a playable poem" illustrated with picturesque watercolour artwork.
But that doesn't mean it's all fluff and no fun - there's a solid, innovative turn-based RPG at the core of Child of Light that follows the young princess Aurora who must win back the sun, moon, and stars from the Queen of Night.
Helping Aurora on this quest is a magical firefly that players can use to slow down enemies in combat and retrieve items in hard to reach places.
Suffice it to say that the Vita is perfectly suited to this sort of multitasking in combat, and we're pretty excited to see how it'll play on the handheld.
Seize the lightChild of Light will see an £11.99 digital release in Europe on July 2 alongside a "Complete Edition" retail release on the same day.
We've been told the Complete Edition will include "all additional game contents", including a bonus quest, a new character, and a pack of collectibles.
The US will receive a digital-only version of Child of Light on July 1 for $14.99.
Finally, there's no cross-buy or cross-save functionality between the existing PS3 / PS4 versions and the upcoming Vita release.
