Switch Galaxy Ultra will bring its fast-paced lane changing racing to Vita soon
Switch it up
Atomicom has announced that the sequel to its Silver Award-winning Switch Galaxy - aptly named Switch Galaxy Ultra - will be zooming onto Vita very soon.
We spoke to Atomicom last year about Switch Galaxy Ultra. The conversation focused on how, despite the similarities, Atomicom's inspiration for the sequel is far from WipEout 2048 - even though the studio has been working with WipEout co-creator Jim Bowers.
We also learned what Switch Galaxy Ultra is all about: "you "switch" lanes to avoid obstacles and collect power-ups and credits in your attempt to get from 'A' to 'B' in the fastest times possible."
While teasing Switch Galaxy Ultra's imminent arrival, Atomicom revealed that it will support Cross Play and Cross Buy.
That means purchasing it on Vita gets you the PS4 version, and vice versa. You'll also be able to compete online with people playing both versions.
Lastly, Atomicom says it will have launch DLC that'll offer new levels, an exclusive player ship, and extra music tracks. Proceeds from the DLC will be going to charity Caudwell Children.
If you're a fan of fast, reaction-based games with stylish visuals then it's probably about time to look forward to Switch Galaxy Ultra.
