Tribute is an upcoming action-adventure for Vita that deals in pixellated death by the temple-load
Wayward Souls for Vita?
The first thing that you'll probably notice about Tribute is its retro game looks.
As you might have guessed, this is no accident. You see, Jose Dorado and his team are looking to capture the style of '80s RPG-adventure games.
Specifically, the aim is to deliver a melancholic experience as the player battles her way through a hostile temple.
Temple runsTemples are places of worship, and are sometimes packed to the ceilings with the dead. So, you can expect a deep sadness to reside in the walls.
Not only will you have to contend with that, but you'll also be grabbed by large ghoulish hands that squeeze the life out of you. Other enemies include skeletons, maggots, and more.
Then, of course, if the enemies don't get you, the traps more than likely will. The temple in Tribute is a place of death; both a container and a purveyor of it.
For all the right reasons, Tribute's agile character and pixellated visuals remind me of Wayward Souls on mobile. However, this one will be heading to Vita and PC - a worthy alternative, perhaps?
It's too early too tell whether Tribute will follow in Wayward Souls's footsteps and land a prestigious PG Platinum Award. But it's looking promising and should be a good fit for Vita.
