Pokemon Art Academy for 3DS will teach you how to draw Pikachu on July 4th

Nintendo has revealed that it'll be servicing Pokemon fans in Europe on July 4th with the arrival of Pokemon Art Academy on 3DS.

This is the latest in Nintendo's Art Academy series. As such, it'll turn your stylus into brushes, crayons, and pencils, and handy lessons will give you step-by-step drawing instructions.

These lessons are broken up into Novice, Amateur, and Graduate difficulties, so you can measure your progression.

Across these, Professor Andy will teach you how to draw Pokemon characters such as Pikachu, Oshawott, Charizard, Torchic, Fletchling, Fennekin, and plenty more.

For the first time in the series, you'll be able to add dramatic backgrounds to your illustrations as a finishing touch.

Take it easel

Once you've got the knack for drawing, the Free Paint mode allows for freehand attempts. A new Quick Sketch mode also lets you practice during a spare few minutes while out and about.

All of your drawings are saved to an image album. You can then share this with other Art Academy players, or if you really want to show off, you can post your album to Miiverse to show your friends.

Pokemon Art Academy will be available via the Nintendo Online Shop, or you can grab a digital version from the eShop.

Unfortunately, a price for the game hasn't been revealed as of yet.
